Cotton the Middle with You is the sixth aired episode of Crash Bandicoot: N-Ventures!, but was the eighth episode produced. This episode centres on Dr. Neo Cortex's latest evil scheme to use cotton to conquer the Snow Go Eskimos. During production, the episode was known as Eskimo Money, Eskimo Problems.
Crash and Coco are on vacation in the chilly Arctic "Snow Go" region! They are enjoying their stay in the snowbound land, gleefully mingling with the Penguin Eskimo Natives (all voiced by Jim Cummings). Meanwhile, Dr. N. Gin is responsible for yet another amazing invention - because he is a cotton gin, he has created a bunch of cotton! Not just any cotton, though - cotton so comfortable, that anyone who touches it will be so comfortable, they will never be able to move again. Dr. Cortex, seeing the great evil potential in this, claims it as his own, marketing it as "Uncle Cortie's Perfect Cotton You Should've Already Boughten", with Labby Larry and Beaker Bill as its celebrity spokesmen. The Penguin Eskimos quickly buy up the new cotton for warmth, as do Crash and Coco, who just realized he neglected to wear a shirt to Antarctica. Predictably, they are all too comfortable to ever move again, seemingly granting Cortex free reign over Snow Go Island! Meanwhile, a dejected N. Gin consults his therapist, Dr. Nitrus Brio, to whine about how his invention was stolen. Brio recommends not being selfish and letting Cortex take all the credit, but N. Gin disagrees. He consults another therapist, Dr. Polar. This one agrees with Ginsters. N. Gin hops aboard Polar and rides like the wind, uncottoning everyone just in time to foil Cortex's plan to steal everyone's wallets! Foiled, Cortex apologises, and N. Gin makes everyone a sweater that is only mildly comfortable. The next day, Crash and Coco are out sledding, in their new sweaters, during which they talk at length about how sharing is awesome, but modern psychiatric medicine isn't.
- Cortex named the comfortable cotton a silly name that rhymes. This is a trait that was eventually brought over to N. Gin. Coincidentally, here, the invention was Gin's idea.
